According to the box art of the Japanese iteration of Kingdom Hearts 3, PS4 fans should set aside a minimum of 40 GB of storage space in order for the content of the game’s physical disc to be installed on the Sony system. Naturally, this is only an approximation of how much data will be required for KH3 to run on the platform, as the title will surely wind up having a Day One patch to supplement its release.
For those unaware, the requirement of about 40 GB of storage space for Kingdom Hearts 3 on PS4 appears to be a little bit bigger than what players on the Xbox One will need in order to play the action-RPG, with the Microsoft Store having listed its file size not too long ago. The download size for KH3 on consoles appears to be somewhat close to the file sizes of other recent releases in the series, as Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue needed around 30 GB on the PS4, while Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5 HD Remix called for roughly 45 GB.
All things considered, it’s safe to say that myriad Kingdom Hearts devotees will have their consoles primed and ready for the third entry’s launch, especially since they have been patiently waiting for its release ever since Square Enix’s confirmation of the title at E3 2013. With this being the case, it will be interesting to see just how the franchise’s fans respond to KH3 once it officially hits store shelves.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is set to launch on January 29, 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
