The video, which showcases various combat demonstrations from the remastered versions of both Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, is an indicator of an absolutely gorgeous rendition of some older Kingdom Hearts games. The character models look crisp, the environments look more defined, and the combat looks as fluid as ever, proving that the extremely well made Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue was no fluke.
That’s a good thing, too, because Kingdom Hearts 1.5 & 2.5 HD ReMIX will wrangle together a number of the harder to find games in the series. By the looks of things, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 & 2.5 HD ReMIX will serve as a wonderful opportunity for those trying to understand the series’ convoluted narrative to do so before Kingdom Hearts 3 finally releases.
The release of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 & 2.5 HD ReMIX will also be preceded by Square Enix ramping up multimedia promotions for the series, as a new range of Kingdom Hearts Funko Pop figures is due out soon and more footage of Kingdom Hearts 3 is scheduled to be shown sometime in the calendar year.
An increased focus on the Kingdom Hearts franchise is just what Square Enix needs after the successful launches of both Final Fantasy 15 and NieR: Automata over the past few months. The publisher is quickly reestablishing itself as one of the premier companies in the industry, and a strong launch for Kingdom Hearts 1.5 & 2.5 HD ReMIX will help bridge the gap between the bigger, new releases still on the horizon.
